For vessels on Europe-West Africa trades, or between the Mediterranean and South America via the African side of the Atlantic, Las Palmas is geographically ideal. It also serves fishing vessels, offshore supply ships, and cruise vessels operating in the region.
As Spanish territory and part of the EU, Las Palmas calls fall under EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime. The Canary Islands have historical tax exemptions that can affect bunker pricing.
