Piraeus is Greece's largest port and the primary bunker hub for the Eastern Mediterranean, serving container traffic and the substantial Greek-owned shipping fleet. The Greek bunker market overall (including Piraeus, Thessaloniki, and outer anchorages) is one of the largest in the Mediterranean.

Piraeus outer anchorage, various designated points in the Saronic Gulf
Piraeus operates alongside other Greek bunker locations including the outer Piraeus and Aghioi Theodoroi refinery areas. Greek-owned shipping is the world's largest fleet by tonnage, so the domestic bunker market has deep commercial relationships with local suppliers.
As an EU port, Piraeus calls fall under EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime. Mediterranean SOx ECA rules (when in force) affect fuel requirements inside the area.
All standard grades available. HSFO is consistently available for scrubber vessels. LNG availability is developing.
Meltemi winds in summer (northerlies) can disrupt operations at outer anchorages. Lead times typically 3-5 days.
